Admissions & Application

Apply now for openings in 6th grade for the 2008/09 school year.

Testing will be scheduled upon receipt of application.

Admission to HAAS’s REAL Class is competitive.

Criteria for evaluating applicants may include previous test results, school records, teacher questionnaires, an entrance exam, and a personal interview. All data from each applicant will be entered into a matrix which will be used to determine the class and wait-pool by the REAL Class admissions committee. Preference will be given to applicants who show a range of accelerated needs, as opposed to applicants who excel in a single area or subject.

Application Process.

The complete written application will include copies of previous academic and behavioral performance and a current teacher questionnaire. All students may apply, but the REAL Class is comprised of students who are at or above grade level in all subjects, and who have great potential for accelerated learning.

To succeed students will need to keep up with a heavy workload without falling behind.  Very little time will be spent in remediation of basic skills, so those students with advanced skills will be given preference over those needing remediation.

Parents must provide evidence that students comply with, or are exempted from, health/immunization requirements.
