Donations
This website cost many thousands of dollars to develop, implement, and maintain. These costs have been fronted by Real School, a nonprofit corporation. The bulk of this website is a public service. The Match-Ed, Education, and School forums are available to anyone with internet access for FREE!
Who might donate?
We are hoping that individual schools which take advantage of their own forum here will consider making an honor system donation.
We are hoping any visitor to our site who values the educational public service we are providing will consider making an honor system donation.
We are expecting that Match-Ed listers who are charging fees for their services, will make an honor system donation. After all, they are essentially getting free advertising. A mentor listing, say, piano lessons, might donate a set amount each time they get a new client as a result of their listing. (If the honor system of donations fails to generate a good portion of our site costs, we may be forced to charge minimal fees in the future for Match-Ed forum listings which charge money themselves.)
We are hoping that users who appreciate that we have no pop-up ads, no google ads, or banner links, will make a donation in order to keep our clean interface intact and ad free.
If you are already an Amazon.com customer, you’ll notice that your name is in the graphic below. This is disconcerting to many. Amazon.com appears proud of this feature but most people imagine some sort of big brother type thing is going on. It’s not. Click the “How do we know your name?” link below to read their explanation. Amazon.com really is providing a neat service with their honor system donation program, allowing websites to receive donations without setting up an expensive e-commerce system. You can donate as little as a single dollar (or as much as fifty dollars) through the link below. If you change your mind, you have time to take your donation back. You can remain anonymous through the process, or you can click “send info” when you get to the Amazon.com honor system “Thank You page” and we will be able to thank you directly for your donation. Whether you decide to remain anonymous or not, at NO POINT does real school EVER see any of your credit card information.
Our tax-exempt status will be secured in three to six months (lots of paperwork and turn around time from the IRS). When our 501(c)(3) status is secured we will be using http://www.guidestar.org to process our donations. This is a more elegant longterm solution. Until then, the Amazon donation program will be used.
If you would rather donate in a more tradational way, you can send real school your donation at:

PO Box 1618
Pahoa, HI 96778
Charitible donations of less than $75 do not generally require a receipt to be deducted on your taxes. When our tax-exempt status is granted, it will be back dated to July 1, 2005, so you can deduct your contribution if you itemize your taxes. If you want a reciept, we will glady provide one via email. You will need to click “send info” at the Amazon site and send us an e-mail requesting a receipt.
